Businessman Robert Vadra, husband of senior Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, arrived at the office of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for recording his statement on the third consecutive day in connection with the 2008 Harayana land deal case

On Tuesday (April 15) accompanied by his supporters, Mr. Vadra had walked two-km distance from his residence to the ED headquarters before joining the probe.

The case is related a land deal in Shikohpur of Gurugram done in February 2008 by a company, Skylight Hospitality, of which Mr. Vadra was earlier a director.

The company had allegedly bought 3.5-acre land in Shikohpur from another company named Onkareshwar Properties for about ₹7.5 crore. As alleged earlier, Onkareshwar Properties did not encash the cheque and struck a deal to help the company procure a housing licence through influence in the State government, then under Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda of the Congress party.

The State government gave licence for a commercial project to Skylight Hospitality for the land in alleged violation of rules. The land was then sold to DLF for about ₹58 crore in September 2012.
