Bollywood actor Aamir Khan has responded to swirling rumors after a fake poster and trailer went viral online, falsely showing him portraying Guru Nanak. The AI-generated content sparked backlash, with a BJP spokesperson even threatening legal action against Khan.
In an official statement released by his team, Aamir Khan distanced himself from the project. “The poster showing Aamir Khan as Guru Nanak is completely fake and AI-generated. Aamir Khan has no connection to any such project. He holds the highest respect for Guru Nanak and would never be part of anything disrespectful. Please don’t fall for fake news,” the statement read.
The controversy comes at a time when Aamir is focused on his actual upcoming film, Sitaare Zameen Par. In a recent conversation with Pinkvilla, he confirmed that the movie is set for release on June 20. He revealed, “Meri toh agli abhi film aa rahi hai, Sitaare Zameen Par. June 20 ko hum logon ne decide kiya release karne ke liye aur… (My next film Sitaare Zameen Par is about to release. We decided to release it on June 20…)”
Aamir explained that Sitaare Zameen Par explores mental health themes, with his character playing a pivotal role in portraying the subject sensitively. The film, directed by RS Prasanna, is currently in its final production stages. Alongside Aamir, the cast includes Darsheel Safary and Genelia Deshmukh in significant roles.
