The AIADMK, which entered into an electoral pact with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) last week for the 2026 Assembly poll, will hold a meeting of its executive on May 2 at the party headquarters in Chennai.
In all likelihood, the meeting will give a seal of approval to the decision of the party general secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami to revive its alliance with the BJP, with which the Dravidian major broke ties in September 2023 and quit the Naitonal Democratic Alliance (NDA). Mr Palaniswami is expected to spell out the reasons for clinching the deal.
The meeting will be presided over by A. Tamilmagan Hussain, chairman of the presidium of the party.
