A 17-year-old boy who allegedly hacked his neighbour at Kallachi near Nadapuram was taken into police custody on Monday (April 28, 2025).
Police sources said the victim, K. Rajeesh, 40, had been admitted to a private hospital in Kannur following the incident. He sustained serious head injuries in the attack.
The assault took place when the victim went to the minor boy’s house as a mediator to settle some family disputes on Sunday (April 27, 2025) night. The boy’s parents had reportedly called Rajeesh to their house, as the boy had behaved aggressively and had tried to manhandle them.
The Nadapuram police recovered the knife allegedly used in the attack. The boy would be produced before the Child Welfare Committee, they said.
