A four-year-old girl allegedly drowned in a water tank on a private school campus at K.K. Nagar in Madurai on Tuesday (April 29, 2025).
Aruthra, who was reportedly a student of the play school at K.K. Nagar, was playing with her friends when she fell into an open water tank on the school campus.
The Fire and Rescue Services personnel were informed about the incident; the school authorities pulled her out of the well before their arrival.
The girl was rushed to a private hospital nearby, but she was declared ‘brought dead’.
The Anna Nagar police have begun investigating the incident. Sources said the water tank, which was at the ground level, was left open when the incident occurred.
