Several districts across India conducted mock drills on Wednesday (May 7, 2025) as a measure of preparedness in the aftermath of the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack.
The Indian Armed Forces also launched “Operation Sindoor” in the intervening night of May 6 and May 7, 2025, hitting terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir, a government release read. “Our actions have been focused, measured and non-escalatory in nature. No Pakistani military facilities have been targeted. India has demonstrated considerable restraint in selection of targets and method of execution,” the Defence Ministry said in a statement issued at around 01.45 a.m. on Wednesday.
Mock drills were conducted at the Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital in central New Delhi, La Martiniere School in Kolkata, and a ground in Mumbai, among other locations.
