Dakshina Kannada Member of Parliament Captain Brijesh Chowta said that Operation Sindoor showed the power of the new India to the world.

On May 7, Captain Chowta said that the strike against terror camps is not merely an action against terrorists. “If anybody tries to provoke the new India, the country’s response will send shock waves across the world. In just 25 minutes, the defence forces destroyed camps, including the one in which Ajmal Kasab, the terrorist involved in the Mumbai terror attack, was trained. Precision strikes, which were done using missiles, showed the strength of the new India. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has sent out a strong message that India will not tolerate terrorists and people who support terrorists,” the MP said.

Lauding the defence forces for delivering an effective message to terrorists for killing of 26 tourists in Pahalgam, Mangaluru North MLA Y. Bharath Shetty said, with the precision attacks, the government has delivered a horrific death sentence to terrorists involved in the killing of tourists. This response has sent shivers down the spine of terrorists, their sympathisers and financers working within India, he said.

MLAs laud strike

Mangaluru City South MLA D. Vedavyas Kamath said Pakistan, which supports terrorist attacks carried out on communal lines, will remember Operation Sindoor for a long time.

Udupi MLA Yashpal Suvarna said that the ‘Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led administration has delivered justice for every drop of innocent Hindu blood that was shed’ in the terror attack in Pahalgam. ‘‘By avenging the innocent lives lost in Pahalgam, the government has sent a strong message to the world that India will not tolerate terrorism,” he said.

About the name of the operation, Mr. Suvarna said ‘Operation Sindoor’ was launched to avenge those who tried to wipe off the ‘sindoor’ of Hindu women. The operation was executed with utmost precision, speed and bravery. He commended National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi, Air Chief Marshal A. P. Singh and Naval Chief Admiral Dinesh K. Tripathi for their leadership in planning and executing the mission against the terrorists’ bases.

He also lauded the courage of the Indian soldiers who took part in the operation, offering his respect to them on behalf of the nation.

R. Padmaraj, the Congress candidate from Dakshina Kannada constituency in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, was also among those who lauded the defence forces.
