Suchitra Ella takes charge as A.P. Government’s handloom and handicrafts advisor

Suchitra Ella, Co-founder and Managing Director of Bharat Biotech, took charge as honorary advisor to the Government of Andhra Pradesh (GoAP) on matters related to the development of handlooms and handicrafts on Friday. She will hold that post with Cabinet rank  for a period of two years. 

According to an official release, Ms. Suchitra will provide strategic guidance on supporting artisan livelihoods and enabling economic development of the handlooms and handicrafts sector through traditional industries.

Ms. Ella thanked Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu for giving her the opportunity to contribute to one of the State’s most treasured sectors. 

She stated that her goal was to expand the reach of the handloom clusters, redesign for modern relevance, and enhance the lives of artisans and artists through training, innovation and global exposure.
