Speaking to the The Hindu, Telangana Director General of Police (DGP) Jitender confirmed that police personnel have been sensitised about the heightened alert and intelligence gathering efforts are underway to identify any potential threats. “We conducted two teleconferences with senior police officials—one last night and another this morning—where officers were directed to implement enhanced security measures. We have begun collecting specific inputs related to unusual or suspicious activities, but so far, no such intelligence has emerged,” he said.

Police presence has been increased across public places, prominent landmarks, and transportation centres such as railway stations and bus terminals to enhance vigilance. “We generally maintain a flexible force deployment strategy,” the DGP added. “In situations like these where heightened sensitivity is required, we intensify our security presence accordingly.”

The enhanced precautions come amid nationwide concerns following the Pahalgam strike, as States across India remain on high alert.
