Issue of bulk permits in person for quarries in Dharmapuri will cease from April 21 insidelooknews

Bulk transit permits for quarries will not be issued directly in person by the Department of Mines and Minerals starting from April 21.

According to the administration, the process of online bulk permits came into operation in July 2024, wherein the bulk permits were procured on payment of fees and the printouts of the permits with the affixed signature of the signing authority was collected from the office of mines and minerals.

However, from April 21, the bulk permits shall be printed out by the lessees on special A4 sheets issued by the office of mines and minerals. The barcoded A4 sheets will be issued based on an application by the quarry lessees. The A4 sheets will be couriered to the lessees, who shall take printouts of the bulk permits.

Lessees of quarries are advised to set up printing facilities in the their quarries to enable printing of the bulk transit permit for movement of the mined minerals.
